PROFESSIONALISM
" We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. "
- Aristotle
As an educator, it is an understatement to say that I value education. My love for learning has always been my inspiration to teach. In order to teach effectively, educators must constantly play the role of student. In our profession, teaching and learning is an integrated discipline; to continue to teach, I must continue to learn. Thanks to master teachers who once inspired my love for learning, I strive to kindle a similar desire for creativity and intellect within my students. Teaching as a profession extends beyond the classroom. As a professional, I aim to construct meaningful relationships with the students, parents, and communities that I serve. Throughout the educational community, we must educate to innovate. Education never ends; learning should not be out of requirement but out of passion. Through my professionalism, I hope to communicate this importance to my students through my own habits of excellence.

Multicultural Community Outreach Resources
Working in a diverse community, I created an informative resource for students, parents, and fellow teachers about useful and community-based multicultural services. As an urban educator living suburban, my goal of creating an educational community involves integrating into my students own communities outside of the classroom. This resource profiles a variety of cultural out reach services available within the city of Reading and Berks Country community.

The appropriation of Shakespeare in American cultural history has always been an interest of mine as an American educator. Through my thesis paper, I explore the integration of Shakespeare as an icon in American schools and the movement of "an accessible Shakespeare for all" through the history of Macbeth in America.
